Wind Consortium Solicitation (with Texas Tech University)


In July 2009, a proposal entitled “Innovation Network to Achieve Wind Energy Technology for a Low Carbon Economy” was submitted to the Department of Energy by Texas Tech University on behalf of The Wind Alliance Consortium.  The Wind Alliance Consortium includes the following 13 universities and 14 industry partners:

The proposal addresses, in an integrated effort coordinated across the consortium, both topic areas of the FOA: 1) Partnerships for Wind Research and Turbine Reliability and 2) Wind Energy Research & Development.  The program includes the acquisition, installation and utilization of a utility-scale wind turbine as well as acquiring or securing access to a smaller wind turbine.
