The Alternative Energy Institute (AEI) is recognized both nationally and internationally for its expertise in the collection and analysis of wind data and wind characteristics.  AEI is the major information resource on wind energy for the State of Texas.

Also located at the test center is a renewable energy building with passive and active heating, solar hot water, daylighing, night flushing in the summer, and electricity.
