The Alliance

The Wind Alliance (the “Alliance”) is a collaborative, pre-competitive public/private partnership designed to support the systematic advancement of infrastructure, technology and workforce, for a world-class, U.S. wind energy industry.  Alliance efforts and resources are focused on the following pre-competitive goals:
The Alliance objectives, in-line with industry objectives, require unprecedented collaboration where all stakeholders share information and know-how in an effort to eliminate redundant activities and strategically deploy resources.  Specifically, this level of teamwork within the wind industry will lead to economies of scale, accelerated development, sharing of best practices, identifying and filling needs within the industry, networking of individual wind power plants, and optimization/synchronization with national-scale storage, transmission, and distribution solutions.  The vision, focus and speed of execution are critical to every player within the wind industry.  The Alliance ’s facilitating, integrating structure is uniquely designed to foster rapport and mutual success.

The Wind Alliance’s primary functions are to:
  • Manage Pre-Competitive Think-Tank Committees on Infrastructure, Technology and Workforce:
    • Identify Opportunities for Wind Industry Optimization
    • Incubate Forward-Thinking Ideas for Wind Power
    • Develop and Execute Collaborative Wind Projects
  • Identify and Channel Funding to Member Projects
  • Administer and Coordinate Project Collaborations

The Alliance received noteworthy letters of support from government, industry and academia, including a letter from the Governor of Texas, Rick Perry.
