Member Highlight

The University of Houston has leading capabilities in materials, from large scale composites to nano-structural material design, for turbine blade reliability and performance; non-destructive evaluation and sensors for turbine/system monitoring and optimization; high temperature superconductivity for improved transmission and motor efficiency; and advanced multi-scale computational fluid dynamics modeling for blade, turbine, and system level design and optimization. Facilities to support next generation capabilities in wind system and component testing at the basic, bench, intermediate, and full scale are currently planned within the University of Houston wind program and will be key elements to executing on this proposed research.
