Infrastructure Committee

From think-tank to action: The infrastructure committee addresses key wind energy barriers
to success regarding transmission, distribution and storage to
maximize industry efficiency and profitability in order to meet the goals of
2030. Issues include the siting of new power lines, as well as complementary
wind energy vehicles such as on-shore and off-shore wind, large wind and
small/distributed wind.

U.S. Adds Wind Farms, But Transmission Infrastructure Lags

“The
U.S. gets a
solid “B” for its 2008 progress toward reaching the 20 percent of
electricity supply from wind energy by 2030, but only a C- grade for its
transmission efforts, according to the American Wind Energy Association
(AWEA).”
