Cloud County Community College (CCCC) is the only college in Kansas approved to offer an Associate of Applied Science degree in Wind Energy Technology. Located in the rolling hills of north central Kansas, Cloud County Community College is a two-year community college serving 12 counties. Featuring a wide variety of academic programs, activities, and athletics, the College’s mission is to provide lifelong educational and learning opportunities for all the people of north central Kansas. Cloud County is home to the second largest wind farm in the state, Meridian Way Wind Farm located eight miles from the campus. By March 2010, CCCC will also have a 330 kW community scale wind farm installed on campus that will provide not only practical training for the students but also enough electricity to power the lighting, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems of the entire Concordia campus. The Wind Energy Technology program at CCCC offers multiple educational tracts that will prepare students for successful careers in not only Operations and Maintenance, but also manufacturing, blade repair, and wind farm development.
